The Bjorklund Christmas Light Show started out as a dream back in 2010. Every year we would add more lights etc. Then in November 2014, we purchased our first set of light controllers and software to begin creating the Bjorklund’s Christmas Light Show. Bruce and Angie scrambled to have the first show up by Dec 1st, 2014, and their son, Bryce, assisted. If he only knew where this was headed. The first season started with 7,500 lights and three controllers. The lights consisted of a mix of incandescent and LED strings.
In 2015, Bruce and Angie added another 2,000 lights, converted to all LED lights, and added another song to the program. Angie decided to start giving out Candy Canes to visitors on various weekend nights. Bryce continued to help out.
2016 came up rather quickly and no changes were made.
November 2017 brought on thoughts of additions. While sitting around the Thanksgiving table Bruce, Angie and their children (all adults), were debating on what to add, (a Mega Tree or a Life-size Gingerbread House); and a Gingerbread House it was!! Within a week Bruce built, and Angie painted the Ginger Bread house. Their son Bryce assisted as always. Then more of their kids (Bruce & Audrey, Kyle and Christina) started to help here and there. Bruce added another controller, updated the sequences and music, and added another 6,000 lights. There are now approximately 15,000 lights. Candy Cane giveaway started every weekend, and the Bjorklund Christmas Lightshow gave away about 600 or so candy canes. Several people asked about donations.
2018, More additions were planned:
· Added another controller,
· Added 7,000 LED lights on 22-foot-tall Mega Tree, (headed by Kyle),
· Added 8 RGB flood lights.
· Added hand painted wood silhouette Elves (designed and painted by Christina)
· Added donation bins
· Added Santa and Mrs. Claus visits
Kyle has become a steady helper and Christina the resident artist.
2018 light total was approximately 24,000 lights. Donation bins were placed on Friday and Saturday nights. Rumor has it Mrs. Claus dragged Santa to come visit last year on Friday and Saturday nights. Check the ‘Calendar’ for dates and times of our special events.
2019, Well we moved; and it’s just 3.3 miles up 140th Street NE (Firetrail Road), from the previous location. New address is 2322 141st Street NW, Marysville, WA. Currently working on lay out and installing the new arrangement at our new home. Additional lights to the show will be added. Upgraded electrical system improvements for reliability, and new Elf additions. Thanks to our kids: Bryce, Kyle, Christina and newly weds Krista & Anthony for helping and assisting in the Bjorklunds Christmas Lightshow…
PS: The Elf Characters are Bruce, Angie and their kids!
The Bjorklund’s are excited for you to visit! Please be courteous with car lights and careful with little ones getting out to get their candy canes! See the Safety Page
